Generative Engine Optimization

South Florida GEO. Measure the answer. Show the change.

We work with local businesses in Miami and the surrounding cities on one question: when a customer asks an AI assistant for a recommendation, does your name come up?

GEO in plain English

Search engine optimization is about earning a spot in a list. Someone types a query, Google returns ten links, and the work is to be one of them. Generative engine optimization is about a different surface. Someone asks ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, or Gemini for a recommendation and gets a paragraph back with two or three business names in it. There is no page two. Either you are named or you are not.

The signals overlap more than people expect — citations, structured data, reviews, and the third-party pages that write about you all feed both. What differs is the measurement. You cannot check a rank tracker for this. You have to ask the assistants the questions your customers ask and write down what comes back.

Why good Google rankings don't carry over

A Coral Gables dentist can sit at the top of the map pack and still be absent when someone asks ChatGPT for a dentist near Coral Gables. A Pinecrest HVAC shop can own its service-area keywords and still watch a competitor get named. The models aren't reading your rankings. They're leaning on the sources they were trained on and the pages they can pull at answer time: directories, review platforms, roundup articles, local press, chamber and association listings. If those sources are thin, stale, or inconsistent about you, the model reaches for a business it can describe with more confidence.

What we actually do

We run the prompts a real customer would type across all four platforms and record who gets named, who is named first, and who is missing, with screenshots and a date. Then we explain the gap — which specific competitor is getting recommended and which sources the answer is leaning on to describe them.

From there the work is unglamorous and specific: citation and directory consistency, structured data on the site so machines can parse who and what you are, review depth and recency where it counts, and content that answers the question in the shape a customer asks it. Then we run the same prompts again on the same four platforms and show you what changed. Some months the change is obvious. Some months it isn't, and we say so.

What we don't do is promise a first mention. No agency controls what a generative model says. We measure it, explain it, work it, and re-measure it.
